Nurses, Nurse Practitioners, and Physician Assistants are on the front lines every day providing sexual and reproductive health care to their patients. However, they often tell us, “I didn’t get much training in family planning when I was in school” and “I am a family medicine nurse practitioner and we didn’t get much time in school on women’s health.” They routinely tell us, “I want more training on these topics!” While Converge will continue to offer on-going CEU opportunities, it’s also important to include more education on these topics from the very beginning: schools of nursing. We’re building partnerships with local, state, and national organizations to ensure nursing schools include core competencies on sexual and reproductive health.
